The purpose of the fair is to create a forum for regional companies and professionals to explore the unique and lucrative business of Government Prime and Subcontracting. The day will feature; scheduled one-on-one matching sessions with purchasing and procurement officers from Government Agencies and Prime Contractors who have small and diversity business goals. It will also include several educational workshops and strategic networking opportunities geared around the world of prime and government subcontracting.
This event can benefit businesses in many categories including:
– “Small” businesses (as defined by the SBA)
– Locally-owned businesses
– Minority-owned businesses
– Women-owned businesses
– Veteran-owned businesses
– Service-disabled Veteran-owned businesses
– HUBZone-certified businesses
– SDB and 8(a) certified businesses
– Representatives from businesses that want to network with professionals from any of the above listed businesses.
Three Programs within the Event:
1. Networking Room: Business to business networking opportunities and sponsors
2. Matching Sessions: Positioning purchasing / procurement officers with prospective small business and diversity suppliers. Scheduling for these sessions will begin about 2 months before the event. Registrants will be called in the order of pre-registration / pre-payment to select your appointments.
3. Work Shops: Various speakers and educational sessions will run concurrently throughout the day ,including:

· Practical Tips for doing Business with the Maryland Transit Administration” presented by Paula Cullings, Director of MTA Office of Fair Practices
· “New Strategies and Tactics to Win Government Contracts” – presented by Gloria Berthold of TargetGOV
· “The Benefits of a Mentor / Protégé Program” given by Oreta Stinson, Department of Navy’s Mentor Protégé Program Manager of the and previous OSBDU rep
· “How to Maximize the Veterans Federal Procurement Program to Grow Your Business” – given by Joseph Wynn, II - President and CEO, the VETS Group, and by Gail Wegner, Deputy Director and co-founder of the CVE, and by Dawn Tucker, Lord and Tucker Management Consultants, LLC and Program Director for the VETS Group.
