Setting up recipients of system notification emails
Certain modules, such as the Registration module and the Job Bank, will send an automatic email notification when someone submits to the module in question. You can determine who gets the email using the Admin – Set Up Contacts link. You can also set your default From address for Targeted Email using this page.
The text in system notification emails cannot be modified by the association; you can only modify who receives them as explained below.
You will notice seven different contacts listed as links on this page. No matter which one you click, you will get these three fields:
Contact Name: type the first and last name of the contact (you can also use something generic like "Admin" or just leave it blank).
Contact Email: enter the email address of the contact. You can enter multiple email address if you wish, but make sure to use semicolons to separate the addresses. (NOTE: The only exception is the Reply To Contact. Do not put more than one email address in as the Reply To Contact.)
Return Message: This is the message the user will see, on the web site, after submitting to the module in question. (The Return Message does not affect the Reply To or Sales/Marketing contact.)
Here are explanations of each one:
Admin - Reply To
Contact: This is the default From address
for each new targeted email. (This address is where all the bouncebacks
will come, and it will receive all replies to the targeted email as well.)
Make sure you put only one email
address in this field; you cannot send a valid email from more than one
address at once. The
Return Message has no effect
for this contact.
When creating an actual targeted email, you can change the From address
to whatever you like, but the Reply To contact address will always come
up by default. As such, it's a good idea to set this contact to
the address you are most likely to use as the From address for targeted
email.
Classifieds - Classifieds Contact: This contact will get an email each time someone submits a classified ad using the Classifieds module. The Return Message will appear on the user's screen after the classified ad is submitted.
Convention - Convention Contact: This contact will get an email each time someone submits a convention registration using the Convention module. The Return Message will appear on the user's screen after the convention registration form is submitted. This applies to any and all conventions.
JobBank - Job Bank Contact: This contact will get an email each time someone submits a job using either the Job Bank or Job Bank Lite module. The Return Message will appear on the user's screen after the job is submitted.
Marketing - Sales/Marketing Contact: This contact will receive any marketing-related emails that Affiniscape sends. In most cases, these will be emails about Member Benefits that your association can opt in to and market to your members to generate non-dues revenue and save money for your members. The Return Message has no effect for this contact. See Member Benefits for more information.
Register - Register
Contact: This contact will get an email
each time someone registers as a new member using the Member Registration
module. The Return Message will appear on the user's screen after
the registration form is submitted. This
contact will also receive a message whenever a member updates his/her
online profile.
You can choose whether the Register Contact receives either or both
types of emails by checking the General Settings link on your Manage
Member Registration/Profile Settings page.
Renew - Renewal
Contact: This contact will get an email each time someone registers
as a new member using the Member Registration module. The Return
Message will appear on the user's screen after the renewal is submitted.
You can choose whether the Renewal Contact receives renewal notifications
by checking the General Settings link on your Manage
Member Registration/Profile Settings page.
Store - Store Contact: This contact will get an email each time someone makes a purchase using the Association Store module. The Return Message will appear on the user's screen after a purchase is made from the store.
